Notion AI
An AI assistant that lives inside your docs, wikis and databases
AI Productivity
Google's own AI assistant: chat, research, images and video, right inside Gmail, Docs and Drive.
Quick answer: I reach for Gemini when the answer lives in my Google account: an email thread, a Drive doc, a pile of sources for a report.
I reach for Gemini when the answer lives in my Google account: an email thread, a Drive doc, a pile of sources for a report. It is not always the sharpest writer in the room, and the plan names are a mess, but as a daily assistant for people already living in Google's apps, it is the one I would pay for first.

Yes. A free Google account gets you everyday Gemini access with standard limits and 15 GB of storage. Paid Google AI plans start at Plus (~$5/mo), then Pro (~$20/mo), then Ultra from ~$100/mo, each raising usage limits and storage.
Mostly usage and storage. Plus gives 2x the free usage and 400 GB, Pro gives 4x the free usage, 5 TB and the frontier models, and Ultra gives 5x or 20x Pro usage with storage from 20 TB. All three are Google One bundles, so storage and perks come with the AI access.
It depends on where you work. If your email, documents and files live in Google apps, Gemini's built-in access is hard to beat, and its Deep Research reports are excellent. If you want the widest range of third-party apps and plugins, ChatGPT still has the edge.
On Android, yes: Gemini has taken over as the default assistant on newer devices, and the Gemini app replaces Assistant there. On iPhone it works as a standalone app, and on the web it lives at gemini.google.com.
