Grok Bot has been shipping shopping features at a rapid pace. The latest, version 0.78.1 dated October 27 on xAI's changelog, is the third release in six days with shopping or payments in the notes. This one turns shopping into something that looks like a storefront inside your chat.

Products now show as cards with photos, ratings, prices, and store names, plus up to two badges like Top rated. Three or four results scroll in a carousel, and you can swipe through each product's photos. On a product page, in-stock options come first, and options no store has are greyed out.

You still approve every order

The key detail is the approval step. Buy now starts an order you approve, rather than firing one off on its own. After you place an order, the Bot tracks it and tells you when it ships or arrives, with shipment cards showing the carrier and the stage.

Payments connect through the Vault. You connect Shop Pay in the Vault's Payments tab, then pick it in Pay with or make it the payment method Bots use first. The changelog's own line for the earlier Vault release is reassuring: you still approve every purchase. When ordering through a store's own connector, the order pays with that connector's own options.

The part we actually like most

Three new templates handle the subscription drudgery. The 'Try it, don't pay for it' template starts a free trial for you, then cancels it or reminds you before it bills. 'Find unused subscriptions' cancels plans you pick from the ones you still pay for. 'Watch subscription prices' keeps an eye on renewal prices. Bots confirm with you before changing anything.

Related templates from the October 26 release do the same for shopping: Order Concierge and Deal Watcher track your orders, refunds, and returns, and watch prices and coupons, never buying without your OK.

Our take

We checked every detail above against xAI's own Grok Bot changelog, which is the only source we used for the feature list. The pace is the story as much as the features: Shop Pay landed October 22, the Vault payments tab October 26, shopping cards October 27.

Here's the catch. Grok Bot is turning into a full checkout machine, and that's genuinely useful if you trust the approval cards. The Bot's own computer does the clicking, and you say yes or no. For comparison shopping and subscription cleanup, that's a real time saver. One thing to know: approval cards now stay open for 30 minutes, up from 10. If you tend to tap approve without reading, slow down before you tap.
